About

Tattersall Engineering Norge AS was established in Lerivik i Sogn in 2014 and has delivered designs for numerous hydroelectric plants along the length of Norway.

The company is run by Colin Tattersall who studied for his Masters of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering with Management at the University of Birmingham. He has worked with both design and construction in numerous countries. In 2003, after three years as senior structural engineer for a mobile phone company he gained the title of Chartered Engineer from the Institution of Engineers Ireland.

Colin has worked with a variety of construction activities:

Copenhagen Metro – concrete ‘cut and cover’ tunnel design.
Papermill – Assessment of structural failure.
Building design – from small details to larger structures.
Mobile network – design and assessment of everything on which mobile infrastructure was mounted on.
Darwin peir – demolition contract documents.
Darwin nursery – tension structures feasibility study.
Site management and supervision on railway and underground construction in London.
Highways – design of various projects on the west coast of Norway.
Cable ferry – promoting an electric solution for the cable ferry to Hiserøyna.
Hydropower – design of dams, penstocks and power stations up to 10MW.
Coanda intakes – 10 years’ experience with a variety of projects.
Eel ladder – development of design of a combined eel and fish ladder without plastic or moving parts.

Colin has also been invited to teach renewable energy to undergraduates at the University of the West Coast. He began in 2018 and continues to teach both practical and theoretical aspects of renewable energy every autumn.
